Pre-Concert Talk in Association with the Friends of Music

The four-concert winter symphony season of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra begins on Thursday 1 June 2017 in the Playhouse, Anton Lembede Street, Durban, and so do the pre-concert lectures, which are aimed at increasing the enjoyment of people attending the concerts.

A late change has been made in the venue for the concerts, which were originally scheduled for the City Hall.  They will now be given in the Playhouse, as will the lectures, which are organised by the Friends of Music and the orchestra.

The lectures, which are informative and entertaining, will  be given in the Alhambra Room, the Playhouse,  on concert evenings, starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 6.40.  Drinks and snacks are available before the start of the concerts at 7.30 p.m. Entry is R10.

The lecturers this season are:

  • Michael Green, 1 and 8 June
  • Teddy Pillay, 15 and 22 June
